JAVASATU.COM- Police in Gresik raided multiple stalls allegedly selling illegal alcoholic beverages in Kebomas District on Sunday night (May 25, 2025), following a tip-off from residents via social media.
Officers from the Samapta Unit’s Giri Nata and Raimas Kalam Munyeng teams inspected 25 stalls along Siti Fatimah Binti Maimun Street and Noto Prayitno Street. One of the stalls, operated by a man identified by the initials DP (37), was found hiding dozens of bottles of illegal alcohol in a vehicle parked nearby.
“The suspect stored the liquor in his car to avoid detection. When someone placed an order, he would retrieve it from the vehicle,” said Gresik Police Samapta Unit Chief AKP Heri Nugroho.
Police confiscated 20 bottles of Bir Bintang, 10 bottles of Kawa-Kawa, 14 bottles of Guinness, 15 bottles of Singaraja, and 40 bottles of Arak Bali. The suspect and all evidence were taken to Gresik Police Headquarters, where the case is being processed as a minor offense (tipiring).
Heri emphasized that operations against illegal alcohol will continue.
“We take public reports seriously. Every complaint we receive will be followed up,” he stated.
Gresik Police urged residents to actively report illegal alcohol distribution or other criminal activity. Reports can be submitted via the “Lapor Kapolres Cak Roma” service at 0811-8800-2006.
