JAVASATU.COM- The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are in the final stages of preparing for Super Garuda Shield (SGS) 2025, Southeast Asia’s largest multinational joint military exercise. The drill is set to take place in late August across several strategic locations, including Baturaja, Dabo Singkep, and Jakarta.

During the Final Planning Conference held at the Navy Command and Staff School (Seskoal) on May 24, TNI Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Rudi Hermawan stated that preparations had reached 90 percent completion.
The lead-up included a Concept Development Conference, initial and mid-phase planning meetings, site surveys, and the final planning session.
“This exercise is a testament to the strength of multinational cooperation and joint operational readiness,” said Brig. Gen. Rudi.
SGS 2025 will involve 15 participating and observing countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, South Korea, France, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea.
Super Garuda Shield is an annual initiative aimed at enhancing military cooperation, combat readiness, and interoperability among participating forces. The event also underscores Indonesia’s growing role in regional defense diplomacy amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
